ISLAMABAD:  Negotiations between the government committee and the protesting government employees were successful while an agreement was reached to increase the salaries of all federal government employees by 20 percent.



According to Express News, the talks between the protesting government employees and the government committee in D-Chowk, Islamabad were successful, while a 20 percent increase in the salaries of all federal government employees was agreed upon, which was formally announced by the government committee today. Earlier, talks were held between the leaders, government employees and the government committee, which was attended by Defense Minister Pervez Khattak, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan.

The government committee has promised a 20 per cent temporary increase in the salaries of Grade 1 to 22 employees till this year's budget, while the Home Minister directed the Islamabad administration to ensure that all Arrested protesting government employees should be released immediately.

Later talking to media, the leader of government employees Chaudhry Sarfraz said that the sit-in will be ended only after the release of the arrested government employees and the notification of increase in salaries is issued. Protesters from the cities will also return.


He said that a notification regarding the service structure of government employees would also be issued while a meeting with the government committee would be held at 11 am in this regard
